Landscape construction and excavation in Snowmass Village

Hillside sitework and landscape construction for Snowmass Village homes: retaining walls, grading, drainage, patios, irrigation and planting built for some of the highest residential ground in the valley.

Working in Snowmass Village

Snowmass Village sits higher and steeper than almost anywhere else we work. Ski-in, ski-out lots on the mountain, homes above Brush Creek and in Horse Ranch and Two Creeks: nearly all of it is slope, and nearly all of it sits above 8,000 feet.

That changes how a project is built. Retaining walls do more of the work. Drainage has to handle heavy snowmelt on grade. Plant palettes narrow, planting windows shorten, and irrigation has to establish material in a few short months of growing season. Ridgeline builds for those conditions with our own excavation and landscape crews.

Services in Snowmass Village

Site conditions

Building in Snowmass Village.

Slope

Terraced retaining walls, engineered where height requires, are the foundation of most Snowmass landscapes. We excavate, build and drain them as one scope.

Elevation

Above 8,000 feet, hardiness, exposure and a short season govern plant selection and timing. We install material suited to the site and back it with a one-year warranty.

Wildlife

Elk and deer move through much of Snowmass. Plant selection and protection are part of the plan.

Design review

Town of Snowmass Village and many HOAs review exterior work. We build to approved drawings and coordinate with your design team.

Questions

Snowmass Village FAQ.

Other communities:

Can you build on a steep Snowmass lot?

Yes. Steep, terraced sites are typical of our work in Snowmass. We plan equipment access and staging in preconstruction and build retaining walls to hold the grade.

When can landscape work start in Snowmass?

Usually late May or June once the ground has thawed and dried, through October. Planning and estimating happen through the winter.
