A landscape is a construction project. Under the plants and stone there are grades, compacted base, drainage lines, sleeves and mainline that decide whether the finished work holds up through fifteen winters or heaves in two. Ridgeline builds those parts with the same crews and equipment we use for excavation, then carries the project through walls, patios, irrigation and planting.
That continuity matters in this valley. Steep lots, snowmelt, freeze-thaw cycles and short seasons punish work that was rushed or handed off between contractors. When one company owns the sequence from the first cut of earth to the last tree, grades land where the plan says, the sleeves are in before the patio goes down, and there is one phone number for the whole job.

How we scope it
We would rather state a boundary up front than surprise you with a change order. On a typical landscape construction project:
- Concrete flatwork is poured by a concrete subcontractor. We excavate and build the base underneath it.
- Outdoor kitchens, decks, pergolas and other structures are coordinated with the appropriate trade.
- Fencing is usually by others unless the plans or your contract say otherwise.
- The plumber delivers a tapped, metered, backflow-protected water source. We build the irrigation system from there.
- We don't offer ongoing maintenance or mowing. We build landscapes.

Elevation and plant selection
Properties in our service area sit between roughly 5,600 feet in New Castle and more than 8,000 feet in Snowmass Village. Plant palettes, planting windows and establishment watering change with elevation, and we build to the site, not to a catalog.
Snow and snowmelt
Roof snow sheds onto patios and beds. Spring melt runs downhill across every lot. Grades, drainage and material choices near the house are decided with that in mind.
A short season
Most planting and hardscape work happens between May and October. Preconstruction, material ordering and permitting in the off-season is what keeps a project from losing a summer.

Landscape renovation
Existing landscapes get rebuilt too: removal of failed walls and hardscape, regrading, drainage correction, irrigation upgrades and replanting. We protect what stays and tie the new work into it.
Do you build from landscape architect plans?
Yes. Many of our projects are built from drawings prepared by landscape architects and designers. We review the full plan set in preconstruction, price every scope we can self-perform, and issue questions before we mobilize.
What if I don't have plans yet?
Tell us about the property and what you want to accomplish. Depending on the scope we'll recommend the right path, whether that's working from a designer's drawings or developing the layout with you on site.
Do you warranty plants?
Installed trees, shrubs and perennials carry a one-year warranty as standard. Plugs carry ninety days.
Do you do lawn care or maintenance?
No. Ridgeline is a landscape construction and excavation company. We build the project and hand it over.
When should I start planning?
As early as you can. Winter and early spring are the best time to get on the schedule for summer construction, and long-lead items like large trees and specialty stone need to be ordered ahead.
